Dear brothers and sisters,

I have always heard the phrase “The Gospel of Jesus Christ” and thought of that as an encompassing word to include everything we do as Latter Day Saints.  From church to temples to our callings.  Really the Gospel is the Plan of Salvation.  Our Heavenly Fathers plan to make us happy.  Elder Bender spoke to the Bishops of our area about 2 weeks ago and he simplified this very well.  He said the work of salvation comes down to two things:  1. A name. 2. What is the next ordinance?  This works for others and ourselves.  I invite each of you to see where you are at on YOUR plan of salvation.  It is a plan and it needs to be followed to give us the happiness we want for the eternities.  If you have already been through the temple then your next ordinance is the weekly sacrament.  If you still need to receive more ordinances please work on those.  The Church is a great tool that points us towards receiving all our Father has in store for us.  I pray you can feel the love that we as a bishopric have for you all.  I want everyone to receive the happiness of our Father.  That is done through our Covenants and living the Gospel to our best ability.  Please take an honest inventory of what you can do to receive your next ordinance and press forward.
